Recipes for The Most Wonderful Time of The Year

Peppermint oreo fudge

Recipe via Something Swanky
Ingredients:  

1 bag of milk chocolate Hershey kisses
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 bag of candy cane Hershey kisses
1 cup of white chocolate chips
2 cups of crushed Oreos
2 14 oz. cans of sweetened condensed milk

Directions:

1. Line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper and spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray
2. In a medium saucepan, mix milk chocolate Hershey kisses, chocolate chips, and 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
3. Stir over LOW heat until melted and smooth. Fold 1 cup of crushed Oreos into the mixture 
4. Pour chocolate mixture into 9x13 dish
5. In a medium saucepan, mix candy cane kisses, white chocolate chips, and 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
6. Stir over LOW heat until melted and smooth
7. Pour the white chocolate mixture over the chocolate Oreo mixture and spread evenly
8. Sprinkle the remaining Oreo crumbs over top and press into fudge slightly
9. Let cool overnight (at least 5 hours), then cut into 1 inch cubes & serve

Christmas Eggnog

Ingredients:

4 cups of milk
5 whole cloves
2 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
12 egg yolks
1 1/2 cups of sugar
2 1/2 cups of light rum
4 cups of light cream
1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

Cooking Directions:

1. Mix cloves, milk, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a saucepan
2. Heat on low for about 4 minutes to slowly bring the mixture to a boil
3. In a large bowl, combine egg yolks and sugar. Whisk until fluffy. Then, whisk hot milk mixture slowly into the eggs
4. Pour the whisked mixture in a saucepan and cook on medium heat for 3 minutes stirring continuously (do not boil)
5. Strain mixture to remove cloves and let cool for an hour
6. Stir in rum, cream, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, and nutmeg
7. Refrigerate overnight & serve chilled 

Andes mint cookies

Recipe via Six Sister's Stuff
Ingredients:

1 Devil's Food Cake Mix
1/2 cup of oil
2 eggs
1 package of Andes Mints

Cooking Directions:

1. Mix cake mix, oil, and eggs together
2. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheet
3. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-9 minutes (no longer)
4. Take sheet out of oven and place an Andes mint on top of each cookie while they are still very hot
5. Let melt for about 5 minutes then smooth like frosting with a spoon
